The dragons of Ildhineth are descended from The First Dragon, a deity now, and his mate. Over time it has become possible to find just about any type of dragon wandering about the land of Ildhineth. There are fire breathers, lava spewers, ice dragons, and many many more. Not all dragons breath fire like many may think however they all have something that they can ‘breath’ in a sense. Some have fire, some may have lava or even acid, and others still may have sand or ice. This does not mean a dragon that can breath sand or fire can control it in another way however. For example a fire-breathing dragon may be able to breath fire and spit out fireballs yet they can’t control fire with their mind or form fireballs in their hands or anything. Most of the time whatever a dragon breathes is whatever type of dragon they are considered however this doesn’t always have to be the case it just has to make sense.
Another ability the dragons of Ildhineth have gained over the years has been the capability to switch to a human form when they so desire. Not every dragon likes to be in a human form however and some still don’t even have this ability. When creating a dragon character it is up to you whether they will also have a human form or not.
Each dragon character has something they can ‘breath’ depending on what type of dragon they are usually and in addition to this every dragon character gets an ability of your choice.
As for what the dragons look like it’s completely up to you the creator. Dragons can have a mane of hair or they may not. They can have horns if you wish. Or they may have spines or a tail tip that’s made to impale creatures. What a dragon character looks like and what attributes it has is entirely up to whoever’s creating it. Usually however dragons do have wings in general.
The dragons of Ildhineth are considered immortal as no natural lifespan has been discovered. However it can't entirely be proved that they are entirely immortal as many are killed through battle or infighting or other manners and not many dragons from long ago still roam these skies.
There is no true ruler of all dragons however they are divided into groups called sects which are each lead by a wyvern. Click here to read about the sects and wyverns.
